All payments on patronat are processed by Stripe, the world's leading payment platform trusted by millions of businesses. When you see the payment form on patronat, you're using Stripe's secure payment system embedded in our site.
how it works
When you support someone on patronat:
- you enter your card details in Stripe's payment form (embedded on our page)
- Stripe securely processes the payment
- money goes directly to the creator's Stripe account
- patronat never sees or stores your card information
- patronat never holds the money
direct payments to creators
We use Stripe Connect, which means:
- each creator has their own Stripe account
- payments go directly to their account
- they control their own payouts
- they see all transaction details in their Stripe dashboard
your card security
Your payment information is protected by:
- Stripe's PCI Level 1 certification (highest security standard)
- end-to-end encryption
- fraud detection and prevention
- 3D Secure authentication when required
patronat never has access to your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details.
what patronat sees
We only see:
- payment amount
- date of payment
- last 4 digits of card (for display purposes)
- payment status (succeeded, failed, etc)
refunds and disputes
All refunds and payment disputes are handled through Stripe:
- creators can issue refunds through their Stripe dashboard
- card disputes go through Stripe's resolution process
- you can contact your bank to dispute charges
saved payment methods
When you save a payment method on patronat:
- Stripe stores your card securely
- patronat stores a reference to use it for future payments
- we never store the actual card details
- you can remove saved cards anytime from your dashboard
